Full Moon in Pisces

 Selene the lamp of the nights

when she appears among the stars

they hide

for her beauty scares them.

sending pure rays to the clouds,

She bends from her window

to look down into women’s hearts

and her eyes search for her beloved Endymon

in his eternal sleep under the caves near the sea.

 

Tonight we are experiencing a full moon in the sign of Pisces. This is all about dreams, fantasies, emotions and higher love. Love that knows no bounds, love that transcends space and time. Therefore I cannot find anything to describe about this Full Moon. Yet, a stories needs to be told.

Gates to the Dreamland are open. Enter the Gate. The eternal cosmic ocean is here. We float in the vastness of the Unknown, the Endless. Such is the cradle of the Great Creatrix,  love that knows no bounds.

Of Selene and Endymon

Once there was a young shepherd in the slopes of Mount Ida. He was such a beauty to behold. Flowers bowed as he walked by, running waters slowed down when he passed. His flock followed his flute all day, and sometimes deers and gazelle followed him too, so enchanting was his music.

In a full moon night like this, Selene saw him. She was so lonely in the cold nightsky, the stars were far away and their light was no match for hers. Selene would die and be reborn forever in the endless cycles or life. That is why she felt for humans, she understood mortality. Yet she was an immortal goddess, she would die but always be reborn as herself again.

Selene fell in love with Endymon. She would glitter on the scales of fish when he drank from springs, and shine her light on the leaves as he walked under trees. She knew that Endymon was a mortal and he was destined to perish and die. The beauty of his face would diminish with age, how would her heart stand this ? Would Time have to be so cruel ? Her love was so strong that it could even lure Time. Thus the Goddess made Endymon immortal during his sleep. He would not wake up nor would he age and die. He would stay as he is, ever asleep. So that Selene could enter the cave and touch his face with her silvery rays every night.

So, be careful when you roam Ida, rich in springs. Do not enter any cave veiled by living vines. You might wake Endymon up.
